A range of research is undertaken at SWB across all sites, but with a dedicated Clinical Research Facility (CRF) there is particular expertise in cardiology, ophthalmology, gastrointestinal and haematology specialities.
Research is also expanding into ICU, musculoskeletal, trauma and orthopaedics, and within the specialist poisons team.
The research management and governance team provides advice, guidance and training on the delivery of meaningful public involvement in research. They can also signpost researchers to links with community groups in the region including established links with Sandwell Connections and the NIHR health disparities research centre.
